Vasilis Birlirakis is President of the Federation of Pharmacists' Cooperatives of Greece. He runs a pharmacy in the city of Volos and in addition to his degree in pharmacy, he holds three postgraduate degrees in the fields of vaccines, pharmacotherapy and cooperative management. He has authored numerous works both in the field of pharmaceutical practice in community pharmacies and in the field of cooperative entrepreneurship, and has actively contributed to collaborative projects focused on cooperatives in Greece. During his three-year term as president of the Federation, he has managed to change the way the Federation operates, the way its members perceive it, to launch numerous projects, to create political and business relations with other cooperative organizations in Greece and abroad, and as result managed to reinvent it.
The Federation of Pharmacists’ Cooperatives of Greece is the collective expression of the Greek Pharmacists' Cooperatives, whom unites, represents and serves.
The purposes of the Federation of Pharmacists’ Cooperatives of Greece:
§ Shapes the cooperative ideology, draws up the collective strategy and builds the common ground of the Pharmacists' Cooperatives.
§ Communicates and defends the positions and claims of the Pharmacists' Cooperatives of Greece, within and outside of our country.
§ Provides support services to Pharmacists Cooperatives.
The goals of the Federation of Pharmacists’ Cooperatives of Greece:
§ The ideological coherence, the common perspective, the functional connection and the common pace of the Pharmacists' Cooperatives.
§ The promotion of the corporate interests of the Pharmacists' Cooperatives.
§ The empowerment of the operation and the assistance of the purpose of the Pharmacists' Cooperatives.
The vision of the Federation of Pharmacists’ Cooperatives of Greece:
To create strong, socially and business-wise, Pharmacists' Cooperatives that, with their multiple roles as suppliers of medicines and service providers, will increase the degrees of economic and professional independence of pharmacists, allowing them to optimally fulfill their social-professional mission.
