Bahman Abdollahi, DBA, is the President of the Iran Chamber of Cooperatives (ICC), Iran’s apex organization representing and promoting the cooperative movement. With more than three decades of professional experience, he has served as ICC President and board member since 2011, and has been the CEO of the National Union of Consumers’ Cooperatives since 2009. Throughout his leadership, Mr. Abdollahi has played a pivotal role in expanding and strengthening Iran’s cooperative sector, which now encompasses over 104,000 cooperatives across the country. His efforts focus on empowering cooperative enterprises, enhancing their economic contribution, and ensuring their active participation in national development strategies. Mr. Abdollahi works closely with government bodies, the parliament, and major national councils to integrate cooperative perspectives into policies addressing economic and social issues. He strongly advocates for the cooperative model as a means to promote fair wealth distribution, reduce socio-economic disparities, generate employment, and improve overall quality of life.
