Alejandro Simón est titulaire d'un diplôme d'actuaire de l'Université de Buenos Aires et d'un Master professionnel en administration des affaires, Magna Cum Laude, de l'IAE Universidad Austral.
Il fait partie du groupe Sancor Seguros depuis 1998, où il occupe le poste de PDG depuis
2016.
Il est président du CITES (Centre d'innovation technologique, commerciale et sociale) et
préside également la FISO (Fondation ibéro-américaine pour la santé et la sécurité au travail). En décembre 2023, il a été nommé président du CIDeS (un groupe de réflexion du
secteur argentin de l'assurance). Il a également été président de l'ADIRA (Association d'assurance) de 2016 à 2020.
Au niveau international, il est membre du conseil d'administration de l'Association de Genève
et du comité exécutif de l'ICMIF en tant que vice-président pour les Amériques.
Il a été directeur adjoint de la carrière d'actuaire à l'Université de Buenos Aires
de 2009 à 2022. En 2018, il a été coprésident du Forum des assurances du G-20 (tenu à
Bariloche, en Argentine) et membre du groupe de travail "Financement de la croissance et des infrastructures" du B20 Argentine.
En juin 2023, il a reçu le prix ADE (Business Leaders Association) du Business
Leader de l'année 2023.
